G. Autousmis – General Manager of Tilcon – at Build

“Aluminium is the dominant material in Greek hotels”

Tilcon SA, which operates in the aluminium sector, took part in this year’s Xenia. During the exhibition, the company’s General Manager, George Autousmis, spoke to Build: “This year at Xenia we presented, among other things, wall and floor coverings, shading systems, bioclimatic pergolas, doors and sliding and opening systems. Our goals were to get in touch with as many professionals as possible who don’t know us and to take on the task of making their hotels even more modern. We also made contact with our existing customers and re-contacted customers who had visited us at the Building exhibition (where we were also present)”.

“70% of new hotels have aluminium cladding and shading systems”

According to the General Manager of Tilcon SA, aluminium cladding, “a timeless and durable material”, is now “very much in vogue” and is an important element in Greek hotels.

“Wood cladding is very beautiful, but it is also more whimsical, more difficult. However, with our wood imitation cladding (and it is one of our products), we have a very efficient result without the disadvantages of wood,” he added. In conclusion, Mr. Autismis stressed: “Nowadays, in about 70% of new hotel units in Greece, the cladding and shading systems are made of aluminium.”
